bhasmaśāyī bhasmadigdho nṛtta gītairatoṣayat ..
japena vṛṣanādaiśca tapasā bhāvitaḥ śuciḥ .. 12 ..
lying on ashes, smeared with ashes, he pleased [the god] with dances and songs, / with muttered prayer and bull-roars, purified and absorbed in austerity.
