ṛte vai kārtikīmekāṃ pūjāṃ sāṃvatsarīṃ tava ..
kariṣyaṃti dvijāḥ sarve satyenānena te śape ..
etadbuddhvā na kopostu hato hanti na saṃśayaḥ .. .. 79 ..

except for one annual worship of yours on the full moon of Kārttika, / which all the twice-born shall perform; by this truth I curse you! / Knowing this, let there be no anger; one who is struck strikes back, without doubt.'
