daṇḍo yamasya tāvanno yāvacchāpo dvijodbhavaḥ ..
agninā jvālyate dṛśyaṃ śāpoddiṣṭānapi svayam .. 29 ..

Yama's staff is not such, as is a curse arising from a twice-born. / What is visible is burned by fire, but [a curse] itself [burns] even those designated by the curse;
