274 In connection with the story of Durvāsas: a hunter deceitfully behaves having accepted discipleship under Nimbasuca in order to gain his trust and take a box filled with wealth kept before a certain monastery-head named Nimbasuca; after much time passes, at a certain time Nimbasuca comes to the Muralā river with his disciple; there, placing his patched garment in the hand of the disciple, when Nimbasuca goes very far to discharge urine and feces, the hunter disciple flees taking that patched garment; the monastery-head named Nimbasuca grieves upon knowing that; then the wicked hunter, having traded with the aid of that wealth and then married a wife, sees his own childlessness and goes with his wife to Camatkārapura to obtain a son; there, meeting with Durvāsas and confessing all his previous deceitful and contemptible deeds to Durvāsas, Duḥśīla makes gifts and the like according to the words of Durvāsas and installs a liṅga in his own name; thus, description of the narrative of the cause of that liṅga obtaining the name Duḥśīleśvara; description of the māhātmya of Duḥśīleśvara and Durvāsaseśvara.. 317 1
