paraṃ yasmādviśuddhaiṣā mayā dagdhā na sā dvija ..
kāraṇaṃ tacca te vacmi śṛṇuṣvaikamanāḥ sthitaḥ .. 23 ..

Yet because she was purified, she was not burned by me, O twice-born one; / and the reason for that I tell you: listen with an attentive mind. (23)
