6.3.1.23

ātmā purāṇaṃ vedānāṃ pṛthagaṃgāni tāni ṣaṭ .
yacca dṛṣṭaṃ hi vedeṣu taddṛṣṭaṃ smṛtibhiḥ kila .. 1.23 ..

The Purāṇa is the soul of the Vedas; those six limbs are separate. / And what is seen in the Vedas is indeed seen through the Smṛtis; (1.23)
