sa eva rudraḥ sa jagajjahāra sṛṣṭyarthamīśaḥ prapitāmaho'bhūt .
saṃrakṣaṇārthaṃ jagataḥ sa eva hariḥ sucakrāsigadābjapāṇiḥ .. 19.37 ..

He alone is Rudra; he destroyed the world. For the purpose of creation, the Lord became the Grandfather [Brahmā].
For the protection of the world, he alone is Hari, bearing the auspicious discus, sword, mace, and lotus in his hands.
