sādhu pṛṣṭaṃ mahārāja yacchreyaḥ pāralaukikam .
śṛṇuṣvāvahito bhūtvā yathājñānaṃ vadāmi te .. 227.15 ..

The venerable Mārkaṇḍeya said:
Well asked, O great king, concerning what is conducive to the highest welfare in the other world.
Listen attentively; I shall tell you according to my knowledge.
