śrīparāśara uvāca -
necchanti dakṣiṇe kūle vratabhaṅgabhayādatha .
bhojanaṃ bhoktukāmāste śrāddhe caiva viśeṣataḥ .. 97.100 ..
The venerable Parāśara said: / "They do not wish [to eat] on the southern bank, out of fear of breaking their vow; / yet they desire to partake of food, especially in a śrāddha."
