sojñānāt pitaraṃ brahmā na veda tamasāvṛtaḥ . .6 . .
ahameka9 iti jñātvā sarvvāṃllokānavaikṣata10
.
na cāpaśyata tatrānyaṃ11
tapoyogabalānvitaḥ . .7. .

Because of ignorance, Brahmā, enveloped in darkness, did not know his father. / Knowing, 'I am alone,' he looked upon all the worlds; / endowed with the power of austerity and yoga, he did not see any other there.
