putraputreti cā12pyukto13 brahmā śarveṇa dhīmatā .
praṇataḥ14 prāñjalirbhūtvā tameva śaraṇaṃ gataḥ ..8 . .
sa dattvā brahmaṇe śambhuḥ sraṣṭṛtvaṃ15 jñānasaṃhitam .
vibhutvaṃ16 caiva lokānāmantardhāt17
parameśvaraḥ . .9 . .

And addressed as 'Son, son!' by the wise Śarva, / Brahmā bowed with folded hands and went to him alone for refuge. / Bestowing upon Brahmā the role of creator together with knowledge, / and the sovereignty of the worlds, the Supreme Lord disappeared.
