Held tight in the pair of Rāhu's arms, Vināyaka, garlanded with a thousand snakes,
thrashed, swinging the tip of his trunk, just like an elephant crossing the river of the gods.
Seeing Vināyaka whose movement was bound by Rāhu's arms, the sky-dwellers then,
the gods headed by Śakra, together with the yakṣas and the siddhas, cried out repeatedly, "Alas, alas!"
Then Kuṇḍodara, the foremost of yakṣas, revived like a crop watered with rain,
and taking an axe, struck Rāhu on the collarbone with his clenched fist.
