Having burned that spear with the fire from his mouth, he who has a monkey-lord's face and the splendour of the sun / swiftly struck him with the thunderbolt, as the lord Indra strikes Meru with his thunderbolt.
With his bones crushed by the blow of the thunderbolt, his teeth and eyes shattered, and his knees broken, / crooked Kujambha collapsed onto the earth, like a mountain struck down by Indra's thunderbolt.
When he was slain, the hosts of gods shouted with joy, while the foes of the gods sank down in dejection; / and the lord of beings worshipped the god, the lord of spirits, who bears the crescent moon on his crest.
Thus ends the one hundred and thirty-eighth chapter in the Skandapurāṇa, in the battle of the Gaṇas, the slaying of Jambha.
