sasarjatustau55 śaravṛṣṭimugrāṃ yathāmbuvṛṣṭiṃ jaladau sanādau .
tataḥ punaścāyudhasarjagani56 payodavisphūjitagajitāni57 ..

tato vyatikaro bhūyaḥ pārṣadāsurasainyayoḥ .

Those two unleashed a terrible shower of arrows, like two roaring clouds [releasing] a shower of water. / Then again, discharging weapons, roaring with the rumbling of rain-clouds, / those armies of the Asuras and the attendants reached the height of close combat. // 50
Thus ends the one hundred and thirty-sixth chapter in the Gaṇa War of the Skandapurāṇa.
Sanatkumāra said:
Then once more an encounter between the armies of the attendants and the Asuras / arose, wondrous, like [the clashing] of sea-monsters from the churning of the ocean. // 1
Bearing flat spears, swords, and bows, like clouds flashing with lightning, / the Dānavas and the Pramathas eager for battle shone there. // 2
'Endure! Strike! Perish! You are undone!'— / Thus speaking, their shouts were heard again and again: // 3
