kārtasvanadhanurmuktāḥ kārtasvaramahāśarāḥ 5 .
pramathāndārya nissaṅgaṃ dārayanti raṇāvanim7 . .6 . .

khagā iva tarūn pakvāna garuḍaḥ pannagāniva . .7. .
tathā te pṛthavo bāṇāḥ kārtasvanadhanuścyutāḥ .

The great golden arrows released from Kārtasvana's bow, / tearing through the pramathas without clinging, tore through the battleground,
like locusts tearing through fields, like misfortunes ruining men, / like birds tearing through ripe trees, or Garuḍa tearing through snakes.
So those broad arrows loosed from Kārtasvana's bow / threw the pramathas into turmoil, like fledglings in nesting trees.
