Resembling the fire of cosmic dissolution at the end of a yuga, blazing as if to destroy the world,
that fire, joined with Viṣṇu and the moon, reached the dwelling of Viśvakṛt; and Nandī,
by command of the Lord, immediately spoke these words: “O Fire, this is not to be burned!”
Then the fire spoke to that god: “Why must this not be burned by me?”
Nandī then spoke to the consumer of oblations: “Maya, a devotee of the Lord of Immortals, resides here.”
