śodhayiṣyatha gacchadhvaṃ naikā27 hyasya gatiḥ smṛtā28 .
tataste tasya vacanānnārakāḥ pāpakarmiṇam29 .. 18. .
sarveṣvevānupūrvyeṇa30 yātayantyatidāruṇāḥ31 .
bhartṛpiṇḍāpahartā ca pitṛpiṇḍāpahārakaḥ . .1 9. .

"Go, you shall purge him! Indeed, not just one fate is ordained for him."
Then, at his word, the exceedingly cruel hell-beings
torment the evil-doer in all [the hells] in due succession.
