evaṃ manorathavatastasya putravatastathā192 .
priyaputrasya193 naivābhūdetad dahati māṃ suta ..97. .
mayā tvamuktapūrvaśca194 gacchanvai tasya195 sannidhau .
jīvau196 yathā tvāṃ197 paśyāvastacca198 naivābhavattathā199 . .98. .

Thus, of him who had such desires, of him who had a son, / of him who had a beloved son, it did not come to pass; this burns me, O son! / And you were told by me before, as you were going to his presence: / 'May we see you while both of us are alive!' And that did not happen thus.
