pṛṣṭhataḥ saṃvidhāyāśu balonmattaṃ mahāsuram .

and quickly stationing the great Asura Mahiṣa, mad with strength, / as the rear-guard with a fourfold army behind him; / and having posted on both flanks Meghasvana and Mahāsvana, / two proud Dānavas, slayers of foes, with a mighty army;
