atha liṅgaṃ samuttasthau teṣāṃ madhye divaukasām .
susaṃhataṃ11 susaṃśliṣṭaṃ samūhastejasāmiva . .12. .
uccacāra tadā tasmāduccairvāg12 viśadākṣarā .
nirdagdhoyaṃ mayā pāpastapasvijanakaṇṭakaḥ .. 13 . .

Then a liṅga arose in the midst of those heaven-dwellers, / compact and very cohesive, like an accumulation of fires. / Then from it a voice arose aloud, with clear syllables: / “That sinner, a thorn in the side of ascetics, was burned by me.
