abravīcca surān sarvām̐statredaṃ vacanaṃ śivaḥ .
yasmādiyaṃ māṃ yuṣmāṃśca maṇḍalena pradakṣiṇam . .27. .
cakre sarvān suraśreṣṭhāḥ sthānaṃ tasmādidaṃ mama .
bhaviṣyati girau vindhye maṇḍaleśvarasaṃjñitam . . 28 ..

And Śiva spoke these words to all the gods there:
“O best of gods, because she circumambulated me and all of you
in a circle (maṇḍala), therefore this place of mine
on the Vindhya mountain will be known as Maṇḍaleśvara.
