atha mūkastadā devīṃ vismayotphullalocanaḥ .
dṛṣṭvā jagāma manasā śuṃbhaṃ dānavasattamam ..5 . .
yatheyaṃ cārusarvāṅgī pradhānā sarvayoṣitām .
tathā puṃsāṃ pradhānosau7 śumbho daityendracandramāḥ . . 6. .

Then Mūka, his eyes wide open with wonder upon seeing the Goddess, / turned his mind to Śumbha, the best of Dānavas: // 'Just as she, beautiful in every limb, is foremost among all women, / so is this Śumbha, the moon among the lords of the Daityas, foremost among men.
