pratyakṣaḥ pratyayo yatra dṛśyate hi kalau yuge /
vihaṅgo gacchate naiva bhittvā śūlaṃ sudāruṇam //
Where visible proof is seen indeed in the Kali age: / A bird cannot go, [without] splitting on the exceedingly terrifying spear.
