vyāsa uvāca:
yadi tuṣṭo 'si me deva yadi deyo varo mama /
pratyakṣo narmadātīre svayaṃ bhavādya me vibho //
Vyāsa said:
"If you are pleased with me, O god, if a boon is to be given to me,
become personally visible today for me on the bank of the Narmadā, O Lord,

atītānāgatajñānaṃ tvatprasādān maheśvara /
and [grant] knowledge of the past and the future through your grace, O Maheśvara."
