vyāsa uvāca:
yadi tuṣṭo 'si me deva yadi deyo varo mama /
pratyakṣo narmadātīre svayameva bhaviṣyasi /
atītānāgatajño 'haṃ tvatprasādādumāpate //
Vyāsa said: / "If you are pleased with me, O Lord, if a boon is to be granted to me, / may you become visible on the bank of the Narmadā of your own accord; / and by your grace, O Lord of Umā, may I know the past and the future."
