hiraṇyatejā uvāca:
pitṝṇāṃ mokṣaṇaṃ kāryaṃ yathā yānti parāṅgatim /
mayā rājyena kiṃ kāryaṃ jīvitaś ca nirarthakam //
Hiraṇyatejas said: / The deliverance of the ancestors must be accomplished, so that they attain the highest state. / What have I to do with kingship? Life itself is meaningless [without it].
