samarthas tārayed vidvān kāṣṭhaṃ kṣiptaṃ yathā jale /
yathā naukā tathā vidvāṃs tārayet paramaṃ taṭam //
A capable, learned man carries one across, just like wood cast onto water;
like a boat, so the learned man carries one across to the highest shore.
