maṇināga uvāca:
asmin sthāne mahādeva sthīyatām aṃśabhāgataḥ /
sahasrāṃśena bhāgena sthīyatāṃ narmadājale //
Maṇināga said: / 'O Mahādeva, please remain in this place by a portion [of yourself]; / by a thousandth part, please remain in the water of the Narmadā,

for the benefit of the worlds and in my name, O Śaṅkara.'
