'Without fault, forgiving and guiltless though I am, I have been cursed.
Therefore, O mighty-armed Kaṇva, quickly become a betrayer of your guru,
and may your livelihood be despised in the world!' so spoke the Ever-Moving One.
From that time forward, O great lord, the greatness of this Prāṇa
has not been celebrated in this world, especially upon the earth.
Due to the curse, Kaṇva consumed his guru and then became a disciple of Sūrya.
Thus all of this, which you have just asked, has been related.
Whatever else you have to hear, O hunter, ask me without hesitation."
Thus ends the nineteenth chapter, named 'The Account of the Curse of Vāyu', in the dialogue between Nārada and Ambarīṣa, in the Vaiśākhamāsamāhātmya, in the second section, the Vaiṣṇavakhaṇḍa, in the Skandamahāpurāṇa of eighty-one thousand verses.
