( 743 )
Maya struck Kuṇḍodara with a trident, and Tāra struck him in the belly with a mace;
Bala struck him, who resembled a hanging cloud, with a fist like a thunderbolt;
and the son of Hiraṇyanetra's younger brother struck the terribly powerful Vināyaka with his palm.
His son also struck out of rage, and the mighty Tuhuṇḍa advanced as well.
Then seizing him, Vināyaka powerfully overpowered Tuhuṇḍa in battle with his trunk,
and dashing him down and tossing him up with terrible force, flung far away that [warrior] who was like an emissary of Yama.
Then striking Prahrāda, that god, alongside Maya whose chest was like dark collyrium,
uprooted [weapons] and roared a dreadful roar, like a cloud filled with bright water in the sky.
Kuṇḍodara too, the foremost of yakṣas, striking Bala, Tāra, and Kujambha,
[faced] both of those guardians of elephant-herds standing in battle, their garlands swaying, inflamed with fierce wrath.
