rathena kiṃ ceṣuvareṇa tasya gaṇaiśca śaṃbhostripuraṃ didhakṣataḥ
puratrayaṃ dagdhumaluptaśakteḥ kimetadityāhurajendramukhyāḥ

What need had Śaṃbhu—who wished to burn Tripura and whose power is unfailing in burning the triple city— / of a chariot, of an excellent arrow, and of his gaṇas? "What is this?" asked the leaders headed by the Unborn and Indra.
