manye ca nūnaṃ bhagavānpinākī līlārthametatsakalaṃ prahartum
vyavasthitaśceti tathā'nyathā cedāḍambareṇāsya phalaṃ kimetat
"And I believe indeed that the blessed bearer of the Pināka has undertaken to strike this all for the sake of sport; / for if it were otherwise, what would be the fruit of this display?"
