marīcirnārado'triśca pulastyaḥ pulahaḥ kratuḥ |
dakṣo vasiṣṭha ityete brahmaṇaḥ prathitāḥ sutāḥ ||

Next Marîchi, Nârada, Atri, Pulastya, Pulaha, Kratu, Daksa, and Vas’istha were created by Brahmâ; these are the Brahmâ’s mental sons (sons created by the sheer power of mind).
