yatnakoṭiṃ prakurvāṇo hanyate daivayogataḥ |
jīvedvarṣasahasrāṇi rakṣaṇena vinā naraḥ ||
The Jîvas, though caring hard to preserve their lives, are killed by Fate in spite of all their cares; and they live thousand years though there is none to protect them.
