sāraṅgo'pi hariṃ dṛṣṭvā māyākoṭiviśāradaḥ |
dṛśyādṛśyo babhūvātha jagāma ca vanāntaram ||

Infinitely skilled in magic, the deer seeing Hari in the shape of Râma sometimes came and sometimes came not within his sight and travelled from one forest to another.
