3.29.14

mārgamāṇau tu samprāptau yatrāsau patitaḥ khagaḥ |
jaṭāyuḥ prāṇaśeṣastu patitaḥ pṛthivītale ||

Râma and Laksmana in their search for Sîtâ, came at last to the spot where Jatâyu, the king of birds, was lying on the surface of the earth, with his life ultimately on the point of parting away from his body.
