āpadi sampadi tulyā dhairyādbhavanti te dhīrāḥ |
alpadhiyastu nimagnāḥ kaṣṭe bhavanti vibhave'pi ||

The wise steady persons remain on account of their fortitude, unshaken in their hearts whether in joy or in sorrow; whereas men, of little intellect, indulge in sorrows when they are happy.
