yataḥ parasparaṃ yuddhaṃ jātaṃ paramadāruṇam |
tataḥ surairjitā daityā indreṇāmitatejasā ||
The prosperous Bali, too, on gaining his kingdom, began to quarrel with the Devas and the war thus went on. Ultimately the powerful Indra and the Devas defeated the Asuras.
