sevātha samaye kāryā śatrūṇāṃ śubhakāmyayā |
svaśaktyupacaye kāle hantavyāste manīṣibhiḥ ||

Intelligent and well wishing persons do serve their enemies even in time of distress; but no sooner they find that their strength and army have increased, than they try at once to kill all their enemies.
