iti śrutvā gurorvākyaṃ kāvyarūpadharasya te |
viśvāsaṃ paramaṃ jagmuḥ kāvyo'yamiti niścayāt ||

Thus the Daityas, hearing the words of the false S’ukrâchârya, thought the false one to be real and placed implicit reliance in his words.
