guṇavyatikarātsarve samutpannāḥ surāsurāḥ |
guṇānvitā bhaveyuste kathaṃ dehabhṛto'marāḥ ||

The Suras and Asuras all have sprung from the permutations and combinations of the 3 qualities! Then how the Devas being embodied can possess more qualities than us.
