dāsavannātra sandeha āśramo gṛhisaṃjñitaḥ |
dānaṃ dadyād dvijāyaiva purāṇaśravaṇaṃ tathā ||
Like a servant—there is no doubt here; his stage of life is called that of a householder. / He should give gifts only to a brāhmaṇa, and likewise listen to the purāṇas.
