āgamoktavidhānena kṛtvā nyāsādikaṃ purā |
tato gaṇeśvaraṃ pūjya japaṃ kuryādvicakṣaṇaḥ ||

Having first performed the nyāsa and other rites according to the rule declared in the Āgamas,
then, having worshipped Gaṇeśvara, the wise one should perform the repetition (japa).
