kṛmayo māṃsamādāya patiṣyanti mahītale
kṛtamasyā vacaḥ satyaṃ tvaṃ ca trāto bhaviṣyasi
Because the light-maker sustains all beings with affection (snehena),
and the root 'ñimida' means affection, he is called Mitra.
