catvāri trīṇi dve caikaṃ kṛtādiṣu yathākramam
divyābdānāṃ sahasrāṇi yugeṣv āhuḥ purāvidaḥ //
Four, three, two, and one—respectively, in the Kṛta and subsequent [ages]—
thousands of divine years in the yugas, the knowers of the ancient lore declare.
