gāyatrīm abhyaset tāvad yāvad ṛkṣāṇi paśyati
tatas tv āvasathaṃ prāpya homaṃ kuryāt svayaṃ budhaḥ //

he should recite the Gāyatrī as long as he sees the stars.
Then, reaching his dwelling, the wise man should himself perform the fire-offering.
