saṃcintya bhṛtyavargasya bharaṇārthaṃ vicakṣaṇaḥ
tataḥ śiṣyahitārthāya svādhyāyaṃ kiṃcid ācaret //
Having reflected on the maintenance of his group of dependents, the discerning man
should then engage in some recitation of sacred texts for the welfare of his pupils.
