bibhetyalpaśrutādvedo māmayaṃ pratariṣyati /
itihāsapurāṇaiśca kṛto'yaṃ niścayaḥ purā //

The Veda fears one of little learning: 'He will deceive me!'
And this conclusion was made anciently by means of the histories and purāṇas.
