yudhiṣṭhira uvāca:
itihāsaṃ dvijaśreṣṭha kathayasva mamānagha /
sarvapāpaharaṃ loke duḥkhārtasya ca kathyatām //
Yudhiṣṭhira said: / "Narrate the ancient history to me, O best of the twice-born, sinless one; / let it be told for one afflicted with grief, destroying all sins in the world."
