purāṇasaṃhitāṃ vāpi śaivīṃ vā vaiṣṇavīmapi /
yaḥ paṭhennarmadātīre śivāgre sa śivātmakaḥ //
Or whoever recites a Purāṇa saṃhitā, whether Śaiva or Vaiṣṇava, / before Śiva on the bank of the Narmadā, becomes identical with Śiva.
